So I went to Vegas last weekend with some friends. I've been to Vegas many a time before, but this time I got out to nearby Red Rock Canyon for the first time, it was pretty cool:

Anyway, there's always crazy shenanigans in Vegas, such as, you know, spur of the moment marriages:

Okay I think its been literally the longest I've gone without an update in the two and a half years I've had this livejournal. I've been busy, what with 70 hour work weeks, and all.

And then my parents went to New York for a week to visit the relatives there. Actually, I think the real reason was that dad was running the Rochester marathon, which is the only reason we go anywhere really.
But my parents were gone for a week. So of course I managed to somehow make the internet stop working, and the pool lights stop working (I just pushed a "test" button on the pool controls?!), and the oven caught fire, and a lorikeet almost pooped on me -- three times!!
After that I was like EFF THIS, quit my job and went to Vegas with Kristy.

Kristy consumes a large beverage at The Paris, Las Vegas

It wasn't that bad though, Kristy visited me for a week and probably kept me from blowing the place up. The bread rods that were in oven when we had our little fire incident actually came out perfect and a nearby Frenchman promptly put the fire out. I tried to breed two frenchmen with two russians but was unsuccessful.
Among other things, Kristy and I went to the Long Beach Aquarium, AKA the Aquarium of the Pacific. It was strong sauce. It had the biggest lobsters I've ever seen, and a lorikeet aviary. It was here that a lorikeet while perched on my arm took no less than three massive bowel movements and miraculously left me unscathed.
Among the many other exciting adventures we had, we hung out with a bunch of Kristy's friends from the Italy programme, and I got to meet them.

Then Kristy returned home with Sashie, but two days later we met up again in Vegas, where her extended family was converging, for her 21st birthday, her father's 50th birthday, and her cousin Brooks' 17th birthday. On that note, last friday was her birthday, happy birthday to Kristy.
By this point my parents had returned only to leave again to go to the Grand Canyon for the weekend, with the two Frenchmen in tow. This was of course for The Only Reason We Go Anywhere, my dad was running the 50 mile Rim to Rim (to Rim) race. Mum's report here.

Last Thursday was my last day of work. School starts next Thursday. I think I'll drive up to Davis on Tuesday, after spending one full day here, in time to spend one full day there before school starts.

Pictures: From Kristy's visit here can be found HERE.
From the Vegas trip can be found HERE.
Due to time constraints I didn't edit every picture so more should become available later.
Uploading all these new pictures has knocked a number of excellent pictures off my 200 most recent uploads on flickr. Notably:
Kristy & I, Civil War Style - or something.
Gavel of Justice - possibly my favourite of my pictures.
My #1 most viewed picture - with 117 views.
Synchronized Gesticulation - Coming in at #4 most viewed, ASUCD Senators gesticulate in unison.

In other news: Aaron Davis reports that his boat has been reassigned elsewhere and now he's just helping people in the Katrina-ravaged area rebuild. We all bid "Cool Kyle" farewell up here Thursday as he's been accepted as a red cross volunteer and will soon join Aaron in the disaster zone.
