I thought I'd do something the lovely [livejournal.com profile] boxsofrain did a bit ago, and declare a Friendzy (Friending frenzy!). Actually I'm not sure she intended for it to work out quite like this but it did: (1) answer the following questions in a comment; (2) As Boxes says, "Also to make this more fun, feel free to read other peoples comments and reply to them with something nice about them. ... Make friends, add each other, mingle, just please be nice." (3) extra points if you mention the Friendzy in your own LJ and send people over to the party! (=

i should know you would take it's side too :P
my theory is that the smell of my tanning oil bothered her, but Cris says that makes no sense.. guess we'll never know

yes, soy mexicana :).. grandpa is 97 years old and he still goes there on a regular basis..my husband is from Chiapas, southern state, the farm is there.. Cris is not around right now, but i'll ask him about the method that "papa Aurelio" uses, let me know if you have any specific questions

Do they have any pictures of their hives? I don't have any specific questions, cause I don't know what would be different! Every beekeeper, even living in the same area, seems to have different special ways of doing things they think are best. It's always really neat and fascinating to meet with them and compare notes. I've met more than one 80+ year old beekeeper who has commented "I still learn new things about beekeeping every day." !

And actually, I think its entirely possible it was your tanning oil! Especially if it happened to be banana or citris scented, because those scents smell particularly like pheromones that mean things to bees.
