LJ Idol - Season VI - Topic 0 - Introduction

   It's not that I want to hide my identity --in fact if it comes up I don't shy away from posting my full name here-- but most of the information one usually fills these introductions with is simply not relevant (Like my name for example. What use is that to you right now?). Read this livejournal, and whomever you think I am is who I am. On any account, one is always the most biased source regarding oneself.

   Unlike 80% of the other introductions you will read here, I do not define myself by my relationships with others.

   To give you some basic context though, I am male, 27, and presently in Southern California.

   I am about to leave for an epic vacation so in the next few weeks I'll be reporting in from Turkey, Israel, Jordan, Egypt, & most obscure of all, NYC.

   Among other things, I like to take pictures. I am the host of LJ Idol photography spinoff ljshootout. Season 1 is having its final round this week. Sign up for Season 2. Also I did LJ Idol last season.

And in fact I believe the snail in my icon was actually drawn in Banning County Jail. I think it was in a letter my friend mailed me and I then scanned it.

I was actually surprised to find myself being the first intro. My saucy references to what all the other intros will look like won't make as much sense ... yet! :D

Your trip sounds so exciting! Looking forward to hearing about it. The only time I have ever been out of the U.S. was going to Jamaica for our honeymoon. I have a long list of places I WILL visit before I die, though. One of these days...

It'll probably be the first time I'm ever this timely on responding to a prompt. Usually I stew about it until 48 hours remain, and then procrastinate until 12 hours remain, and then agonize over getting distracted by every little thing while I write it until 6 hours remain (most of which SHOULD be allocated to sleeping)

This one is of a sunset on the ocean. The sea is dark and has several normal sailboats and one three masted tallship on it. The sky is clouds illuminated a brilliant orange by the sunset, with blue sky visible between them in places.

Wow, that sounds like a fabulous trip you have planned. I don't know what kind of writing you do, but hope that you'll consider sharing observations based on your travels. No doubt you'll be seeing things yu've never seen before, learning things you've never learned before, and generally seeing the world in a new and interesting way.
