Delirium

I became aware last night that the last possible day to turn in my HIS138C paper was today (Wednesday), not this upcoming Friday as I'd foolishly been under the impression. This resulted in a mad rush to finish the paper on time and the creation of a paper the quality of which I could not help but apologize for. I put the following on the last page of the paper:
Note: I’d like to apologize for the quality of this paper, not because I wish for any unwarranted leniancy, but because I’ve been so busy lately that I feel that the amount of effort I was able to put into this paper was by no means exemplary of my abilities. Grade this paper as accurately as it deserves. Thankyou.

If this wasn't bad enough arriving on campus to print it out at the last minute I realized that I'd emailed myself the wrong version of the paper!! )=> This required the sending of the following email to the professor immediately:
Professor McFaul*,
Having finished the paper at the last possibile minute I have rushed to campus to print it out only to find I emailed myself the wrong version (an early outline I'd made)
I really loathe having to ask for an exception, but having struggled so much to finish it at this last minute to have the whole thing invalidated by this mistake would be deeply traumatizing to me. I swear the paper is as complete as its going to get at this point, and I'd like to email it to you when I get home as further evidence of its completion until I can turn in a physical copy tomorrow.
Thankyou in advance for your consideration of this matter. If you find I cannot be accomodated I shall harbour no resentment towards you for it.
/Kris Fricke.

*In my sleep-deprived delirium I wrote the name of the author of the book our papers are on instead of the professor's actual name!!

I returned home and duly emailed the paper to him. Then I slept for several hours. When I came to I had an email from him saying I should turn it in first thing tomorrow. History office opens at 10?

Things that cheer me up when I see them

Is it weird that I wanted to know what section I was in in a class so I went to thefacebook.com to find out?

Poll: Is "proxyzation" too silly a word to coin for a term paper? I'm writing about the tendency of states to sponsor separatist groups within states they wish to weaken rather than wage war against them -- carrying out their intentions by proxy in other words -- proxyzation.

Today I mentioned to my roommate Adrian that I craved icecream sandwiches. He responded "me too! Lets get some!" and forthwith we set off walking down to the former Ray's Food Place (now "Food Faire" or something lame like that).
I'm not a fan of these hot summery days, but the warm evenings can't be beat. Walking back I got nostalgic and fondly recalled all the warm summer evening adventures of my college career and concluded that all in all college is a truly wonderful experience and all the people I know back home who chose not to go to college really made the worst decision of their lives (completely leaving the educational and career inhancing aspects out of it, which multiplies my conclusion).    In another random declaration of craving, I later developed a severe craving for corned beef, boiled cabbage, and mashed potatoes. I think I can attribute this actually to roommate Jill polling us on behalf of her boyfriend uncommited lover Misha "what goes well with sausage?" And she wrinked her nose at me over boiled cabbage and mashed potatoes! Such lack of culture.
Anyway, it only dawned on me AFTER I'd been telling Kristy about my craving and continued on to call my mother to book such a meal for when I got home that I realized that it was St Patricks Day and I happened to be craving the most Irish meal imaginable. Weird.
And then I find out that Sarina apparently cooked that exact meal today but Kristy and I didn't find out until it was too late. I was absolutely heartbroken.
