Six Months

Saturday was Kristy and I's six month anniversery.

We started out our day at the Farmer's Market at 11am. I had a danish there.
Then we went to the Whole Earth Festival on campus. The denizens of the WEF: they look like hippies, they smell like hippies, but they sure are into capitalism. And the question remains, where do they go at night?

That evening Kristy and I went to the newest (and only one we haven't been to yet) Thai place in town, Thai Bistro. Thai Bistro was ranked best Thai restaurant in town by the Aggie.
Its certainly at the very least a contender with Thai2k, and possibly better.. more research is certainly necessary. For the extremely high quality of the food the prices were very reasonable. I got a calamari dish and I believe it was only around $7.50.
I can't wait till I have an excuse to go again.. hmm it IS my birthday this upcoming Friday...

On that note, it is my 22nd birthday this Friday, May 14th. Having been unable to find a location to host a party on the scale I did last year I don't know what I'm going to do. /=

I have extra tickets to the prescreening of Troy here on Thursday if anyone wants them.

A little known fact is that it's impossible to have a "6-month anniversary," being that the "ann" in "anniversary" refers to a year. I do suppose you could call it a semi-anniversary or a half-anniversary. Kenny calls it a "six monthiversary".

I think this "little known fact" is actually well known but generally ignored as inconsequential.

Incidentally it occurs to me that last time you were in Davis you were going to go to Sophias. Obviously you didn't do your homework and look at my Thai Food memories section.. its well established that Sophia's is the worst Thai food in town (and anywhere else I've had either), yet it is still patronized by philistines on account of its bar. Minus 55 culture points to you.

you seem to be in the minority opinion on this matter, although I would concur that sophia's is over-rated. But then again, it is Davis. (-:

P.S. minus 206 culture points for misspelling "it's"

California Aggie Article establishing the nature of Sophia's, its terrible food and reliance on its bar.

Minus 251 culture points for not reading that article and foolishly making comments contradicted by a newspaper.

While I don't believe that Sophia's is the best place in Davis, I disagree that the food is terrible. I have enjoyed eating there many times, and for Thai food in a town like Davis, I find it perfectly acceptable.

PS, I'm hoping that your entry was sarcastic, given the excellent journalistic reputation of the Aggie.

I concur

Have you investigated the Oxford Circle park idea? I'm starting to like the idea. Besides the risk of having to chase off ruffians -- which shouldn't be too hard if you have enough punks at the party -- getting a permit there would allow a big drunken party, a place to barbecue, and less chance of being shut down by the authorities. Is my suggestion.

But.... it might be infiltrated by hordes of freshmen?

There are rarely hoardes of freshmen at the park, particularly from Friday through Sunday, seeing as how they all run home to their mommies. The place totally empties out on weekends.

I think the park would be a brilliant idea, not that I'm biased by the fact that I can see it from my patio or anything.

That seems to be a general theme around this complex. I go outside to have a cigarette, and all of a sudden all my neighbors are out there.

However, my studio apartment and little patio are not large enough for any kind of interesting party.

Darling...

You neglected to mention the gorgeous pink rose you got for me (not unlike the one you gave me in Berkley 6 months prior) and the silly guy yelling demands for an autograph from you. That was perposterous, even without the mohawk, you don't look like Clay Aiken *shudder*.

Such poems, such sauce, youhateme.

On a completely random note, I think reading Youth in Revolt alters the way I speak and write, it's quite atypical, hee hee. Only 154 pages to go...

6 months. good deal, kiddo.
this new thai place just opened up down the street from my house. you and gabi should come visit, and we could all eat there. see how it is.
22, eh? fogey! would you like a little something? i'm sure i could whip you up a t-shirt with some witty phrase, or a necklace you'll never wear, or a mix cd about as deep as a garbage bag, and containing a lot more junk. or...you know...something.

I added the link to your opinion of the place to this entry under "related"
