Wow its been deplorably long since I've updated. When this happens it becomes harder to actually narrate what has occured lately, and the entry degenerates into a pointless ramble about whatever is on my mind like so many other livejournals.

Today my only adventure was a trip to campus which after much reluctance I managed to get myself to partake in order to attend the Entertainment Council meeting. I get there only to find a notice on the door stating "meeting cancelled." But I find Azver in the ASUCD Senate Office and he steals my complaining rights because he came up early from San Fransisco for the meeting that was cancelled. On my way ought I run into a similarly disappointed Arya who had also come to campus specifically for the cancelled meeting. Hooray for entcon communication.

Discoveries
I discovered another amusing web-comic, www.wigu.com, courtesey, of course, of the automatic most recent lj picture updaters.
And while studying for ancient Russian history I discovered www.wikipedia.com, an online open-source encylopedia which is immensely useful for looking up obscure historical things.

Civ 3
In other news, Mission Viejo is now the capitol of America in my game of Civ 3. The rest of America was overrun by angry MEChA aztec forces, but I took sympathy on the foolish American people and gave them a city which I named Mission Viejo. Then the Greeks were about to capture a small seaside village of mine so I named it Laguna Beach and gave it to the Americans.
The French and Greeks have been annihilated. My imperial armies are now crushing Babylonia with tanks and bombers.
As democracy tends to disfavour the state of constant war so cherished by my regime, and communism isn't as enticing in Civ 3 as it was in Civ 2, I think I'm going to stay a monarchy forever.

Quotes
"Aaah that guy was creepy!!" boy circa seven to his friends after having passed me on the sidewalk.

So I got there at 9am, earlier than I've been on campus for months, to help with load in. Not knowing what plugs into what and where things go makes helping difficult, but I did my best and plugged in some monitors.. then we put up barricades.. then I had to go tour a winery at 10:30.
The entertainment council had scheduled us so there were at least four of us in freeborn hall at all times, so my next shift was from 12:00 to 1:30, during which time none of us did anything because there wasn't anything to do.
We weren't particularly excited about the opening band (I never learned who they even were) so a few of us took advantage of our special ability to go in and out of the venue to go get icecream from the COHO.
Then I'm sitting in the lobby with two volunteers whose names I don't know, and the guy sees someone come out of the staff rooms with a cup of water. Deciding he wants a cup of water he goes over there to inquire about water and gets sent somewhere else. Then I says to the other "you can get whatever you want from the staff room if you just look like you know what you're doing. For example, I'm going to get some coffee from them," and I proceeded to go in and steal some of their coffee. Meeting up with Arya and Vanessa after that, they asked where I got the coffee and I explained it to them. A minute later they come back with sodas and I'm like "you got sodas from the staff room??" and Arya was like "haha we one upped you." I was about to mount a further raid to one up them, but Pixies came on.

   Pixies are excellent.

Helped evacuate the opening band's stuff from the stage before the Pixies came on, distributed Shins flyers to people trying to escape after the show, helped with load out after the show. Arya and Yadira ([livejournal.com profile] porcelain999) helped a bit with load out too, but they soon disappeared.
Head sound guy asked if I was working the coachella show. Then he joked "can we request you?" Head of the freeborn staff: "if you ever want to work for freeborn..." me: "you have open positions?" staff member: "we could make one for you." I think the promoter said something nice too.
I don't know about working for freeborn; the one thing that wild rivers taught me more than anything else is that while hard work may impress people not expecting it, as an employee you'll be constantly overshadowed by people that work less hard and shmooze the higher ups constantly. One of their employees had a small mohawk though, so I think I could keep mine.

Then I walked home. It took 45 minutes but I thoroughly enjoyed the night and the solitude.

And saw two cops that actually looked young to me and I was like "wow I'm getting old."

PS: Tickets to this pixies show sold on ebay for like $500!

The Bees The Bees!!
So I'm sitting in my room and I notice there's four bees buzzing around. I decide to see whats up with that and lurk around the house... sure enough there's at least as many in each of the upstairs rooms. Go down to the livingroom the whole freakin room is fuckin buzzing. It was like that hitchcock movie, The Birds, but with bees.
Finally I determine that the door from the livingroom to outside is wide open, and there are several empty beehives just inside the livingroom, because well, you just gotta understand that thats how my house is. Even though the hives are as clean as they get, they'll always totally smell like honey and the bees are attracted to that.

This Evening - The Plain White T Show
So first of course I went to Diedrichs for coffee. Katie D'agistino was there, and the guy who'd been wearing the Flogging Molly shirt yesterday was wearing a homemade shirt that said "STEEL RESERVE" on the front in sharpie. That guy is like, seriously my hero. If you know me you'll know why but I feel like explaining: (A) Flogging Molly is my favorite band (B) I make my own shirts, in fact I wore my "preppy" shirt this evening (C) I am ALL about the steel reserve. For awesome. Also after drawing an emo snail and thereupon mentioning it was my lj name, this random girl I totally didn't know was like "wait, your livejournal is emosnail?? I've read it before!" Freakin weird. But we have some mutual friends I guess so it sorta makes sense, but I am still baffled how Sarah had read my livejournal before I met HER.... weirdness.

AAnyway, eventually I got myself down to the show. It was for awesome. Plain White T's are the for awesome. They definitely should have been the second-to-last, not Rudiger. It was the first time I've seen Rudiger, and I know I have some friends that are all about them, but frankly I was Not Impressed by them at all. ::shurg::
Randomly ran into Carly Goode there.. didn't expect that. And Ashlee and Dana were there which was way cool, and Fish was there which was cool and we totally hung out. And then... and you Davis kids pay attention now: ARYA and Vanessa from entertainment council (ie not Kritlow) showed up. That was wack. They were there to see Rudiger I think. See my above comments on Rudiger.
But yea I swear half the people at the show left after Plain White T's finished.. why? well because PWT is for awesome.

When the show was over I hung out there until 12:30, then Fish went with the Bullets N Octane kids to their afterparty and I decided to head down to capitrano beach where some of the diedrichs kids were having a beach bonfire.
That was like a half hour drive.. and five minutes before I got there Katie called me to say that hey they were leaving... soo yea. Hmmm kinda reminds me of yesterday. Those Diedrichs kids are sneaky.

Justice
I do not lie, I do not cheat, I do not cross double yellow lines on the freeway (carpool lane) even if no one is looking, and I do what I say I'll do. I am quite clear that I will not tolerate people either warning or blocking me on aim, and thankfully precious few people know that I definitely mean that.
A friend of mine last year warned me on aim "as a joke," I didn't talk to him on aim for a full month thereafter.
Presumably the deterrence for blocking should be worse, but today one of my best friends blocked me. I know she didn't think it was as serious as I did, but thats exactly why my stance on the subject must be inequivically clear.
At 16:27 today with "u asked for it" and "actually u prob wont mind" she blocked me.
When she came on at 16:42 I tried to tell her that I was not going to talk to her for the next 12 hours, but she signed off as soon as she found out I was displeased with her blocking. A short while later she called me, I probably shouldn have answered, but I do not hang out on people, so we had a rather untalkative conversation thereupon.
At 4:42am this morning the sentence is considered complete. But see the thing is, its not that I was that pissed about it; its just that when I say I am going to do something I am obligated to do it... weightless words and creative ethics have become the expected norm today, but I shall retain my honor for ever.

Kris' Love Life Explained
Apparently some people have taken my long silence in my livejournal on the subject to mean that I am being a devious bastard and not talking about it. No it is quite the opposite; I have no social life and am over it. I am not looking for to have one either, I have attained a jaded and cynical equilibrium.
Yes most of my friends are girls, but contrary to what a certain "friend" of mine is apparently telling everyone, no I am not dating any of these people, and no I am not a pathological liar (see above section for further insight on that subject). And no, no one appears to like me right now either. I don't need the speculation. Just let me be asexual ... dating is for sucks.
