I haven't been able to utter a single intelligible thing since I got my wisdom teeth out this morning. I haven't felt any pain though -- the worst part by far was getting an IV in my arm before they started, which is something I just can't stand. The worst part since then has been my inability not to constantly drool blood (my lower lip and the rest of my lower jaw is completely num). Also its 8pm and I haven't eaten since yesterday (!!!!) I am so ravenous. Kristy's in the process of makin some chicken noodle soup though which hopefully I'll be able to consume. Kristy's been taking good care of me.

Last night Kristy and I went to the Phenomenauts show put on by the Entertainment Council in the Coffee House. I think it was the first ska show I've been to in Davis. People don't know how to skank in Nor Cal! Well some do, but there were more people trying to mosh than skank, and the music definitely was skanking music. Not only that but a large number of the moshers seemed to actually just be trying to get their aggressions out and be as obnoxiously violent as possible. For example they seemed to target this guy who appeared to be the only person genuinely skanking, and make it their mission to prevent him from doing so by constantly slamming into him. Weak. )=
Altogether the show was a lot of phone though. The Phenomenauts were teh awesome. Unfortunately we only caught the end of Flip the Switch and missed Lobster Rockets altogether.

The Hammer of Justice - I discover my older brother [livejournal.com profile] nibot has a livejournal, buy a mallet and name it Trogdor. My friend [livejournal.com profile] ambivextrous is still visiting.
Three Years Ago Last Friday: Troll Attack - The ASUCD Supreme Court announces my dissenting opinion on the recent case to be "null and void." Ironically, it turns out my dissenting opinion remains in the SGAO archives while their majority opinion does not. Also someone trolls my livejournal with retarded malicious anonymous comments. It was later linked to an individual whom we shall not name in hopes of not reopening that conflict, but she went on to date one of the current ASUCD Presidential candidates.
Three Years Ago Last Wednesday: An Innocent Trip to the Grocery Store - I set off on Friday night to walk down to the local grocery store. Along the way I get kidnapped by some girls I'd met on the bus and end up visiting three different towns and having various drunken adventures.
Three Years Ago Yesterday: Scarf Party - I bounce back and forth between two different parties that are 19 minutes apart by foot. Not having a car at my disposal ain't gonna slow ME down.
Three Years Ago Today: Ozma Show - One of the seminal events in recent Davis musical history, the band Ozma plays in the Coho and packs it to more than twice capacity. Then again, "capacity" for the Coho is for some reason designated at about half full. Anyway, it was the awesome. I got the screen name of the hawt female member of Ozma but it turns out she never came online )= Also I met my good friend Gabi [livejournal.com profile] calicoto* at this show, although it wouldn't be until I met her again some months later that we'd actually establish contact and become friends. Also I think Matt Jojola established his innovative photography skills by getting an awesome picture of the show through the roof.

So Kristy and are walking along on campus the other day and Kristy says to me "hey you know who that was on that bench we just walked past?" and I look back and see this emo kid with shiny shoes talking on his cell phone. I quickly run through all our most emo friends in my mind and don't come up with a match, so I'm like "um, no?" "That's Conor Oberst" says she.
As soon as he got off the phone a bunch of emo kids rushed him to take their picture with him and get his autograph. Later he walked by and I said "hey Conor," cause you know, me and him are like this. I think Conor actually looks like a totally emo version of former ASUCD comptroller Jon Avidor -- with shiney shoes.

This evening was the Bright Eyes show in Freeborn. As usual I got in for free in exchange for my soul after the show. But I got Kristy in as well so my soul apparently has doubled in value. The show was awesme, I missed the first opening band, but the second one, Sons & Daughters was actually rather good, and Bright Eyes sounded excellent live. Especially the giant harp -- those things just don't translate to recording. They hepped up the song The Calender Hung Itself and it sounded awesome and caused Kristy to shake-rump.
After the show was over I helped pack out until around 1:30. It was funny the roadies were talkin shit on Bright Eyes (usually most of the roadies don't actually travel with the band as popularly believed, but are contracted out from somewhere nearby. Also most roadies have pony-tails). When I finally got out of there, the tour busses were still parked out there, there was still a securit perimeter around them manned by campus security, and there were still groupies hoping to get a glimpse of Conor Oberst!!! I haven't seen that kind of thing at any of the other shows we've put on here, making Bright Eyes groupies more hard core than even Rancid groupies or the groupilicious (and terrible) Sum41. Incidently Conor was at the time eating pizza, and I don't imagine he had any reason to leave the bus later that night.

Illegal Aliens Destroy the Economy - space aliens I mean
I was thinking about stuff from my Politics of Global Inequality class (POL124) the other day and it occured to me: lets say we finally made contact with an alien civilization, and lets say they were friendly, in fact we got along awesomely, and began to trade with them -- they would destroy our economy. Aliens capable of intersteller travel would doubtlessly be able to manufacture anything and everything more cheaply than us, and have all kinds of awesome things we'd all want to have. We'd be reduced to a third world world. We'd spend all our money on their awesome shiznaz and eventually be relegated to manufacturing amusing human trinkets for export throughout the galaxy.

I told this to my roommate Jason, to which he immediately responded "at least we'll have porn."

Quote of the Day
So I was talking to Kristy about a certain person who knows they're annoying and knows why they're annoying but refuses to do anything about it. "..it is well within human capacity to better oneself, and is there really a better accomplishment?" says I. She responds "uh yeah there is a better accomplishment -- successfully becoming a cat."

This Week in Campus Politics: Senate votes to secede from the University of California Student Association (USCA). Our representative to UCSA Ali "Chemical Ali" Ramidzaneh apparently argued in favour of this move. Rumour has it that President Assagai has vowed to preserve the union by vetoing the legislation. This may all be an effort to expunge the ghost of our previous UCSA representative Brian "I represent 230,000 students" McInnis, whose powers over the dark side were so strong he created a whole new office under which all our advocacy units were placed and was barely defeated in creating a position of 2nd Vice President for himself. Since then jedi knights have banished him to the role of campus tour guide (where he is no doubt raising an army of prospective students).

Also Chief Justice Khan of the judicial horde of Mt San Antonio College asked me the other day if student governments are allowed to endorse ballot propositions and candidates. I was informed him of course that no, student governments as educational non-profits are forbidden by IRS from endorsing or disendorsing propositions. Fortunately his senate did the intelligent thing and failed the bill which would have put them in breach of IRS codes.

Also, Entertainment Council find out Senator Lydiana Alfaro had given the Senate an account of the Taking Back Monday event that contradicted our own experience and was rather condemnatory of Entertainment Council. EntCon declared Alfaro gets "no more favours" and is persona non grata in EntCon. When she finds out she gets butthurt.

Phoneless

After my one class today 10-11 and some meetings, I hung out with Roxie and watched this band she'd brought, The Groovie Ghoulies. They were a psychobilly band, which is the awesome, but I was really impressed by their ability to randomly do songs in completely other genres and do them well.

After that I spent about an hour as an itinerate MU urchin. I wanted to get ahold of Kristy to see if she wanted to lunch with me but without my phone I was powerless. Nor could I call any other friend for that matter. I've never felt so alone in the middle of campus. Eventually Gena took pity on me and accompanied me to Pita Pit whereupon I devoured a gyro.

Much later I was fleeing an ASUCD Supreme Court meeting when I noticed some commotion in the Coffee House. Turns out it was an electronica show organized by Amie Gutierrez. "Electric Badness" was playing when I got there and I thought they were pretty cool so I hung out for awhile there with Roxie. Then another band came on that I wasn't feeling so much so I went on my way.

Apparently my cell phone turned up, they want me to call some number (I think its the MU Information Desk). Hopefully I'll be able to track it down tomorrow.

Shins Show

May. 19th, 2004 02:41 am
aggienaut: (asucd)

Today was the Shins show. It was excellent. The other two bands that played, Bishop Allen and the Decembrists.
I knew the term "Decembrists" was a reference to a historical Russian dissidant group, but nothing prepared me for the playing of the Soviet Anthem in full before they took the stage. I nearly swooned.
Unfortunately I couldn't make out the lyrics of very many songs - sound comes in a bit distorted when you're sitting between the speakers. My life is so difficult. (I was backstage for the whole show).
And almost as shocking as the playing of the soviet anthem: in the middle of their set, between songs, the Shins lead singer is talking and I'm not really paying attention but all of a sudden I hear "has anyone seen the guy with the green mohawk?" !!!

As if the day couldn't get any better, Azver happens to be around when I'm finally done with loadout around midnight and gives me a ride home.

In other news it turns out that Adrian, Azver and I all have best friends from out of town visiting this week. As such we've planned "Best Friend Night" for Friday and its gonna be awesome.
On that note, my extremely good friend AARON DAVIS is coming into town tomorrow (Wednesday) and will be here through Saturday. I ahven't even seen him in two years because he's been sailing around like a pirate (no really, he's been on the only commissioned US tall ship, the coast guard Eagle).

Exciting roommate bonding last night + Shins show today + soviet anthem at show + reference from the shins + aaron is coming to town = this is possibly the best week ever.

Tomorrow morning I'm going to have to leave at 5:15am to walk to campus (since it takes 40 minutes) to get there at 6am to go chalking, even though I haven't been able to confirm we still are fordays. If Amie Gutierrez would just respond to IMs my life would be a little less stressful but I think she loathes me.

Anyway today I played in two intramural soccer games on the ASUCD team. It was pretty fun. We lost the first one and won the second. It was good times.

Kristy's been feeding me well lately. I morethanjock her.

aggienaut: (fish)

This morning I had to be at the flagpole at 6am to go chalking for the Shins show.
So I get there at six, and Courtbutt is like "don't you read your email??" and I'm like "uh, yea?" and she's like "the email said 5:30." I look around to see if there's some reason I'd have been better off waiting around for half an hour, but from the looks of it I got the better end of the deal since those who arrived at 5:30 had spent an extra half hour standing by the flagpole.
So we all stand around for twenty more minutes waiting for our valiant leader Devin to show up, but he never does. So we all disperse and go back home to sleep.

In other news, I really need a new source for music. Winmx is getting progressively worse*.

*This is by no means an endorsement of music piracy. We here at Emosnail would never engage in such activities nor advocate them.

aggienaut: (fish)

Wow its been deplorably long since I've updated. When this happens it becomes harder to actually narrate what has occured lately, and the entry degenerates into a pointless ramble about whatever is on my mind like so many other livejournals.

Today my only adventure was a trip to campus which after much reluctance I managed to get myself to partake in order to attend the Entertainment Council meeting. I get there only to find a notice on the door stating "meeting cancelled." But I find Azver in the ASUCD Senate Office and he steals my complaining rights because he came up early from San Fransisco for the meeting that was cancelled. On my way ought I run into a similarly disappointed Arya who had also come to campus specifically for the cancelled meeting. Hooray for entcon communication.

Discoveries
I discovered another amusing web-comic, www.wigu.com, courtesey, of course, of the automatic most recent lj picture updaters.
And while studying for ancient Russian history I discovered www.wikipedia.com, an online open-source encylopedia which is immensely useful for looking up obscure historical things.

Civ 3
In other news, Mission Viejo is now the capitol of America in my game of Civ 3. The rest of America was overrun by angry MEChA aztec forces, but I took sympathy on the foolish American people and gave them a city which I named Mission Viejo. Then the Greeks were about to capture a small seaside village of mine so I named it Laguna Beach and gave it to the Americans.
The French and Greeks have been annihilated. My imperial armies are now crushing Babylonia with tanks and bombers.
As democracy tends to disfavour the state of constant war so cherished by my regime, and communism isn't as enticing in Civ 3 as it was in Civ 2, I think I'm going to stay a monarchy forever.

So I got there at 9am, earlier than I've been on campus for months, to help with load in. Not knowing what plugs into what and where things go makes helping difficult, but I did my best and plugged in some monitors.. then we put up barricades.. then I had to go tour a winery at 10:30.
The entertainment council had scheduled us so there were at least four of us in freeborn hall at all times, so my next shift was from 12:00 to 1:30, during which time none of us did anything because there wasn't anything to do.
We weren't particularly excited about the opening band (I never learned who they even were) so a few of us took advantage of our special ability to go in and out of the venue to go get icecream from the COHO.
Then I'm sitting in the lobby with two volunteers whose names I don't know, and the guy sees someone come out of the staff rooms with a cup of water. Deciding he wants a cup of water he goes over there to inquire about water and gets sent somewhere else. Then I says to the other "you can get whatever you want from the staff room if you just look like you know what you're doing. For example, I'm going to get some coffee from them," and I proceeded to go in and steal some of their coffee. Meeting up with Arya and Vanessa after that, they asked where I got the coffee and I explained it to them. A minute later they come back with sodas and I'm like "you got sodas from the staff room??" and Arya was like "haha we one upped you." I was about to mount a further raid to one up them, but Pixies came on.

   Pixies are excellent.

Helped evacuate the opening band's stuff from the stage before the Pixies came on, distributed Shins flyers to people trying to escape after the show, helped with load out after the show. Arya and Yadira ([livejournal.com profile] porcelain999) helped a bit with load out too, but they soon disappeared.
Head sound guy asked if I was working the coachella show. Then he joked "can we request you?" Head of the freeborn staff: "if you ever want to work for freeborn..." me: "you have open positions?" staff member: "we could make one for you." I think the promoter said something nice too.
I don't know about working for freeborn; the one thing that wild rivers taught me more than anything else is that while hard work may impress people not expecting it, as an employee you'll be constantly overshadowed by people that work less hard and shmooze the higher ups constantly. One of their employees had a small mohawk though, so I think I could keep mine.

Then I walked home. It took 45 minutes but I thoroughly enjoyed the night and the solitude.

And saw two cops that actually looked young to me and I was like "wow I'm getting old."

PS: Tickets to this pixies show sold on ebay for like $500!

I cannot actually think of anything noteworthy to report since getting back from San Diego. It has been mad hot here, and I went to class yesterday for the first time in a week. Otherwise I've just been doing a lot of reading trying to catch up with everything.

Tomorrow I'll be on campus allll day - arriving at 9am to help the Pixies set up, spending all the time I'm not in class helping with that, and of course being there until the show's over and possibly helping with load-out. On top of that, during my winemaking class, VEN3, we'll be touring an on-campus winery (because UCD is cool like that).

So after the MUN meeting today I go to the Coffee House, where Brillaint Red Lights, The Fiery Furnaces, and Ted Leo & The Pharmacists are playing for free.
Shortly after getting there, Azver gives me the rest of his bottle of wine (in a brown paper bag of course), and then Entertainment Council director Andrea Chalupa gives me a peice of pizza. Mmm everything is better when its free.
Hung out with my apartmentmate Adrian was at the show. Briefly our other apartment-mate, Jill showed up as well. In an unprecedented display of roommate bonding we all completely incidentally found ourselves standing together at a show.
Then I walk over the The Colleges where Kristy is at the apartment of Courtbutt, Christie, Sarina, & Adam. While finishing my conversation with Aaron on the phone I see my friend Nat(alie Kempkey), an unusual happening since she no longer goes to Davis. Apparently she came in just for the show. And scarcely had I finished greeting her then Brian McInnis emerges from a nearby apartment to say hi. Kristy then emerged and saved me from more random encounters in the Colleges.
Courtbutt sewed two of the three missing buttons on my pea-coat back on (the third is missing). That was strong sauce.

Apartment-Mate Needed
In completely other news, we need a new roommate here next year since Adrian is leaving us for a better place (a house in downtown Davis to be exact). Anyone who wants to have the Casbah experience may contact me asap. The end.

Tear Gas & Thai Food
Friday evening Kristy and I decide to go investigate the restaurant Thai Recipes. Last time they (she and all the usual people.. yea.. I was busy though d= ) went to Thai Recipes they apparently had a malevolent troll of a waitress, but they were a big group so the waitress may have been misbehaving just cause she knew she was gonna get her tip anyway.. on any account we were feeling adventurous and decided to give it another investigation.
Firstly however, since parking is crazy difficult in Davis, we parked behind Fuzios and those places.. and walking past the front of Fuzios ran right into my Uncle Ben and Auntie Bev. That was crazy sauce.
Anyway, for my $8+ I got a highly unsatisfactory amount of food. It was good but hellllla small.. like Fuzios portions are ginormous in comparision (Fuzios = weaksauce portions itself). Comparing it to Sophia's Thai restaurant, the food was much better (Sophia's quality I would definitely rate as weaksauce), but the free refills on Thai Iced Tea at Sophia's and the fact that I only needed to eat three people's meals to feel content puts Sophia's definitely in the lead. I think there might be at least one more Thai restaurant in town though so next time I'm goin out to eat I guess I'll investigate that one (Thai Nakorn?).

Back at Kristy's apartment complex... well Kwisty lives in "Stirling University Something", commonly known as "Stirling," or "Starlington." "Arlington" you see is the infamous party crazed apartment complex (affectionately known as "the second year dorms," because while only first years live in dorms here I guess Arlington had a notoriously high level of second years), but I believe Arlington has calmed down a bit lately.. anyway I've never seen it at all like Starlington was Friday night.. which brings us back to Starlington:
...so I leave Kwisty's apt at like 1am to get a CD out of her car... first of all the hallway is totally filled with smoke or fog or some kind of thick white obscurant which has reduced visibility to about ten feet, and when inhaled causes severe caughing. I suspect either (A) someone exploded a fire extinguisher or (B) the police broke up a party using teargas.
Anyway music with extremely heavy bass premeated the entire building, and the sounds of raging partying similarly seemed to come from no specific direction but oozed from the walls in every direction.. exiting the tear-gas filled hallway one was met with a sight that confirmed that indeed people were partying all over the place. Like.. whoa.

The Sacred Order of Kadafi
Saturday all day we had our Model United Nations mock-conference (isn't that redundant?). Just the people from our school, which amazingly numbered about 40+. I was a bit sceptical at first but it turned out okay I think. I guest-spoke in World Health Organization on the topic of AIDS/HIV as Libya, informing everyone, as is official Libyan policy, that HIV is an evil American conspiracy designed to make the rest of the world dependant on US pharmaceuticals (also since the US insisted that AIDS prevention education was key, I declared that they were also using it as a way to "impose their craven and depraved American morality on the rest of the world." After this speech committee broke down for a short time while people asked questions such as "does he ALWAYS speak like that??" such sauce.
Back in my own beloved committee, DISC (we only ran two committees), I also spoke as Libya, urging everyone that arms control is complete bollocks, but not in those words. Cuba in DISC actually was arguing for the same saucey policy, against everyone else, and I saw to it that he got the "Spirit of Libya" award (which of course I made up for the occasion).

That evening Kristy and I went over to Sloshie's, where of course drinking abounded.

ASUCD Intrigue, As Usual
Today during Entertainment Council meeting I mentioned that ASUCD Senator Lydiana Alfaro had firmly blamed and condemned Ent.Con. for the Taking Back Sunday Incident, saying during last weeks Senate meeting that EntCon had been explicitly told by the LGBT not to proceed with the show.. the exact opposite of what I had heard. The EntCon staff unanymously declared that Senator Alfaro gets no more favors, and is now persona non grata to the EntCon. Ah campus drama.. ah the many interesting revelations of my ten minutes of attendance at last weeks Senate meeting.

aggienaut: (Default)

Taking Back Sunday played today on the quad for free. Unfortunately the Lesbian, Gay, Etcitera organization was having themselves an event as well and had gotten the sound permit. However our people talked to their people and we agreed we could peacefully co-exist at our opposite ends of the quad. This however, meant nothing apparently, to the campus events bureaucrats/fascists (SPAC), who proceeded to pull the plug on Taking Back Sunday. TBS however valiantly took back Monday by playing acoustic in the quad and everyone loved it.. apparently. I myself was not there. I was in class. d=
I did however get my picture taken with some of the members shortly thereafter.

On November 5th Tiger Army, Rancid and Nekromantix are playing here. On November 5th my friend Croat from back home and possibly others will be up here. On November 5th, my best friend from back home, Aaron Davis will be visiting here as well. On November 5th (or the 4th or 6th) I think I'm hella throwing a party.

Not having a computer is driving me insane. Like, right now, in the middle of the day, when all I want to do is SLEEP, I have to write papers. Arghhh. And at night, when I should be studying or something, I need to sleep because I haven't slept during the day. This is a terrible situation.

Yesterday we had our ASUCD Supreme Court Hearing on Case #21. It was very crapful in my opinion.. the whole thing had been plagued with problems; not being able to get a room for it until finally we settled for this tiny miserable room in wellman... bleh. I hope the Aggie feels it not worth reporting on because if they write about it at all I'm sure it'll look bad.
I think we're gonna have even more crap to deal with BECAUSE of this case.. argh.
But we did set a precedent that is noteworthy. The Judicial Codes say that a case must be arbitrated within 10 days of filing. We didn't have quorum during that time and so couldn't meet, and held the hearing as soon as possible thereafter. The Defendant in her move to have the case dismissed of course pointed this out, (I have no doubt she was instructed to by ASUCD Advisor Vicki Swett) to which I pointed out that the Codes offer no provision to allow for the situation that we CANNOT meet in the ten days; the Constitution gives the Court the responsibility of making interpretations of situations not covered in the Constitution or Codes; to interprete it that the case couldn't be handled after ten days would obliterate the Plaintiff's right to have a case, so it therefor must be interpreted that a Hearing shall be held as soon as possible thereafter.

Then there was the Primus show. I had never heard of Primus before this show. I did not take a fancy to their music and left after their second song. Their fans are a very varied group indeed, but there seems to be a definitely inordinate number of rather large and hairy males that smell a bit rank in their fanbase.
Someone stood outside the window of the lobby before the show with a sign that said "I need a ticket!" or something (it was sold out). Entertainment Council director Andrea Chalupa put "should we let them in or are they a creepy stalker to a vote and we found unanymously that we believed the individual to be a creepy stalker.

FRIDAY NIGHT
So Friday night I made some calls, but being the not very cool person that I am and lacking my main connection with 98% of the people I know (the internet, AOL IM specifically), I couldn't drum anything up and eventually resolved to study till round 6am and then get plastered by myself and sleep through the day.
No sooner had I left my apartment to go get myself some steel reserve, but who should call me but comrade Bree ([livejournal.com profile] badbree), saying I should join them all. So it sounds like a better plan than my previous. I proceed to Aggie Liquor first however, where they scrutinized my ID, asked me if that really was my signature, asked me my birthday, and finally settled the matter by swiping it in their little machine, which no doubt caused my secret file deep in the government archives to be updated with my latest alcohol preferences.
Then I was off to Body-Part Drive where in the middle of a maze of bleak warehouses I found hella people crowded into a rocknasium, but not before Courtney ([livejournal.com profile] lilmisscourty) did her best to get me lost (whereupon I'd of course be dismembered and placed on the curb in tupper-ware for the trashman to pick up, as is the tendency on Body-Part Drive).
Needless to say shortly after I arrived there everyone fled, so next we went to AEPi, the jewish fraternity. There I hung out with my friend Bryce Kuklok. Now let me tell you about my friend Bryce. Bryce is catholic. Bryce is the founder of the Agnostic and Atheist Student Association here at Davis (which (A) I am now the president of and (B) we actually have a table for Activities Faire on Wednesday AND (C) I finally got the banner from Bryce.. but I digress). Bryce is a member of AEPi, the Jewish fraternity. Bryce is a weird guy. He's also majoring in International Relations, Peace and Security, same as me.
At some point a drunk frat guy (and I have to say, I don't believe "drunk frat guy" is nearly the malevolent connotation it usually is when it is said in reference to AEPi) declared that anyone who drove on a Del Taco run he'd buy food for. So of course Bryce immediately volunteered and proceeded to take advantage of the situation as much as possible, ordering several orders of chili cheese fries all of which the other guy paid for. Ah he makes me proud.

SATURDAY NIGHT
Saturday night was Sashie ([livejournal.com profile] slosha)'s birthday party, an event that warranted a keg. The party was.... very interesting. Yes. ::awkward silence::
Suffice it to say people were dancing in ways that would get them arrested if they did it in public. I mean much more-so than your average party.
Every single person asked me where Kristy ([livejournal.com profile] basicallyasap) was. She was back home in p-town where her parents were holding her hostage at the time.
My friend Joe was also having a party in the same apartment complex (La Salle), so I went looking for that party as well. First I stopped by Apt # 220, where there were three sorority girls WEARING TOGAS, no joke. Then I eventually found the party at #120. It wasn't really very exciting so I just wrote on Mike Cuddy, who was passed out at the time, with my sharpie and returned to Sloshie's. My friend Azver made an appearance, and then later so did a bunch of the local punk rock kids; Zane, Sachi ([livejournal.com profile] soccermomxcore), Don ([livejournal.com profile] dysfunk408), Alex (from KYD), and a few others. Apparently they just happened along and saw the party going on. Me: "who do you know here?" Zane: "ummm.... you."
Bree, Courtney and Christie and them were of course there at first, but later-on apparently decided to leave and go to the AGR fraternity, where apparently some random drunk guy decided to start punching Bree's friend Amy. Whats with the violence here? I heard a similar story I think last week.. some dude just came up to someone's friend outside a frat house and started punching them for no reason. I bet its the local kids.

Entertainment Council
I stopped by the Entertainment Council office because they had summoned me to submit to them the hours that they may own my soul tomarrow to help for the Primus concert. They staff there had spent all day dealing with red tape apparently, and at the time were trying to get an alcohol permit because the band had a handle of vodka, a case of beer, and a bottle of wine, which they intended to consume during the show. Also the band apparently has its own cook, so arrangements needed to be made to allow the fire dept to inspect the cooking set up they were going to have.

Rancid comes here on the 5th of November. I very much look forward to meeting them.
