FRIDAY NIGHT
So Friday night I made some calls, but being the not very cool person that I am and lacking my main connection with 98% of the people I know (the internet, AOL IM specifically), I couldn't drum anything up and eventually resolved to study till round 6am and then get plastered by myself and sleep through the day.
No sooner had I left my apartment to go get myself some steel reserve, but who should call me but comrade Bree ([livejournal.com profile] badbree), saying I should join them all. So it sounds like a better plan than my previous. I proceed to Aggie Liquor first however, where they scrutinized my ID, asked me if that really was my signature, asked me my birthday, and finally settled the matter by swiping it in their little machine, which no doubt caused my secret file deep in the government archives to be updated with my latest alcohol preferences.
Then I was off to Body-Part Drive where in the middle of a maze of bleak warehouses I found hella people crowded into a rocknasium, but not before Courtney ([livejournal.com profile] lilmisscourty) did her best to get me lost (whereupon I'd of course be dismembered and placed on the curb in tupper-ware for the trashman to pick up, as is the tendency on Body-Part Drive).
Needless to say shortly after I arrived there everyone fled, so next we went to AEPi, the jewish fraternity. There I hung out with my friend Bryce Kuklok. Now let me tell you about my friend Bryce. Bryce is catholic. Bryce is the founder of the Agnostic and Atheist Student Association here at Davis (which (A) I am now the president of and (B) we actually have a table for Activities Faire on Wednesday AND (C) I finally got the banner from Bryce.. but I digress). Bryce is a member of AEPi, the Jewish fraternity. Bryce is a weird guy. He's also majoring in International Relations, Peace and Security, same as me.
At some point a drunk frat guy (and I have to say, I don't believe "drunk frat guy" is nearly the malevolent connotation it usually is when it is said in reference to AEPi) declared that anyone who drove on a Del Taco run he'd buy food for. So of course Bryce immediately volunteered and proceeded to take advantage of the situation as much as possible, ordering several orders of chili cheese fries all of which the other guy paid for. Ah he makes me proud.

SATURDAY NIGHT
Saturday night was Sashie ([livejournal.com profile] slosha)'s birthday party, an event that warranted a keg. The party was.... very interesting. Yes. ::awkward silence::
Suffice it to say people were dancing in ways that would get them arrested if they did it in public. I mean much more-so than your average party.
Every single person asked me where Kristy ([livejournal.com profile] basicallyasap) was. She was back home in p-town where her parents were holding her hostage at the time.
My friend Joe was also having a party in the same apartment complex (La Salle), so I went looking for that party as well. First I stopped by Apt # 220, where there were three sorority girls WEARING TOGAS, no joke. Then I eventually found the party at #120. It wasn't really very exciting so I just wrote on Mike Cuddy, who was passed out at the time, with my sharpie and returned to Sloshie's. My friend Azver made an appearance, and then later so did a bunch of the local punk rock kids; Zane, Sachi ([livejournal.com profile] soccermomxcore), Don ([livejournal.com profile] dysfunk408), Alex (from KYD), and a few others. Apparently they just happened along and saw the party going on. Me: "who do you know here?" Zane: "ummm.... you."
Bree, Courtney and Christie and them were of course there at first, but later-on apparently decided to leave and go to the AGR fraternity, where apparently some random drunk guy decided to start punching Bree's friend Amy. Whats with the violence here? I heard a similar story I think last week.. some dude just came up to someone's friend outside a frat house and started punching them for no reason. I bet its the local kids.

Entertainment Council
I stopped by the Entertainment Council office because they had summoned me to submit to them the hours that they may own my soul tomarrow to help for the Primus concert. They staff there had spent all day dealing with red tape apparently, and at the time were trying to get an alcohol permit because the band had a handle of vodka, a case of beer, and a bottle of wine, which they intended to consume during the show. Also the band apparently has its own cook, so arrangements needed to be made to allow the fire dept to inspect the cooking set up they were going to have.

Rancid comes here on the 5th of November. I very much look forward to meeting them.

Right now I'm in the computer lab on campus. The one in the basement of Oslon, because the other one has like.. windows and things like that that are bleh-hurg. This one is nearly silent except for the steady sound of airconditioners.. it actually sounds a bit like a really muffled waterfall. And in general it has this aura of like.. being in the basement. Good times.

Last night I was at the A Fire Inside (AFI) show until until 2:30. Blah. But I got paid $40 for it. For the last two hours or so of being there two other entertainment council guys and I were helping load-out the equipment. So $40 for two hours, $20 an hour.. sounds good to me. One of our guys was this guy I've never seen before who's only reason for being there was to see the band. I found that kinda lame.. he disappeared at one point to get his picture with them, and absconded with set lists like a kleptomaniac. What a man-groupie.
And speaking of which, I have NEVER seen so many people wearing a bands shirt to their show. I mean.. I hate to be all like a scene snob and all but.. no, you just don't do that. Your there, we know your a fan, especially if you dress like.. every freakin other one of the fans.. you want to seem like you're in the know, wear a shirt of a band closely connected to the band thats playing, like a Tiger Army shirt to the AFI show or something. Apparently Vanessa and Sachi and whomever filmed a thing called "Poser Disposer" outside, where they interviewed all the poser-punks they could find. I can't wait to see that. And man.. I have never seen so many fights break out at a show either. These AFI kids have a fairly violent way of moshing right? And then there were these bros there that as usual didn't really understand the point behind the moshing, and then they'd feel like some AFI kid moshing next to them was attacking them and start attacking back and yea. It happened a bunch.
We TOTALLY didn't get backstage passes, us Entertainment Council people, as we usually do. It sucked they treated us like ::gasp:: everyone else. Except we all got into the show for free. Still though.. like the three of us that were helping pack away the equipment weren't even allowed back until the show was over. I think that was a bit overly fascist.

Tuesday morning there was a major fake ID bust in the dorms. According to the aggie: "Authorities entered residence halls in groups of about 10 officers who had their weapons drawn, residents said." notice not only was it ten officers, which would have been overkill to begin with, but "GROUPS of ten officers." Did they suspect this kid was peddling military grade weaponry as well??
Word on the street is that they found 500 fake IDs in there, and various drugs possibly including crack. General suspicion is that when the janitors in the res halls entered the dorms to "search for mold" during break they became aware of the criminal empire this freshman was trying to create.

Lessee.. I've dropped the history class.. I'm going thirteenxunitxcore.
Our first short story for the English class is due next wednesday. I want to write something that directly focuses on the issues I've identified in the teacher: of someone defining their existence by making sure everyone thinks of them as the epitome of a particular genre of person (in her case, "artist"). It would be easiest I think for me to make it about a hippie, because more than any other type of person, being a hippie is exactly that: its about being a hippie. But thats too similar to what she is I think. So I'm thinking right now maybe I'll write about a punk.. I've heard plenty of stories about people who introduce themselves as "I'm a punk" or "I am hardcore" and god knows there's a lot of posers out there. I should watch SLC Punk to prepare myself hehe.. for the umm 511th time. But yea.. and its something I know enough about to make it work.. hell maybe I'll even make him work at IHOP.
The goal is to ideally directly make the teacher question her own behavior, but its very important that she have no idea I am writing it specifically about her.. if this works out it would be wonderful... first assignment, emotionally destroy the teacher.. yea thats about on par with my usual behavior.
I'm thinking it'll proceed something like a greek tragedy.. in the begining life will be going very well for our protagonist.. and then something will come up that'll make him feel like he's not very punk and cause him serious issues... maybe the entrance into the story of someone who's like.. twice as punk as he... I dunno I really gotta work on these details but.. yea. It'll be very subtle of course.. this deconstruction. If anyone has any thoughts or advise I'd love to hear them.

In other news the Dominion of Blehtahepdakorum is once again classified as "Iron Fist Consumerist as opposed to "Corporate Police State." We are in the 70th percentile of fastest growing economy (ranked 29,932 out of the 105,086 nations in the world), and leading our region of Aardvarkia in economic growth. In addition to the Grand Duchy of Mumsimalia, an "inoffensive centrist democracy," the "democratic socialist" Republic of Sfergedburg has recently become affiliated with our region.

current mood: everything will be okay.

current music:
None, I'm in the computer lab; but there's a vague emo song in my head.. no idea which.. I think it might be a weird mixture of several. weird.

Party at Arjun and Sue's place, formerly referred to as The List's House. There was that one other party there earlier, that was recorded in this lj, but I'm too lazy to go back and find the entry to link to it or be more specific. There was also a huge picture from the previous party that I put in a later entry so if you're really interested skimming through here the pic should be easy to spot. It was Sachi's birthday party.. I swear there were like 200 people there. Like eight live bands. a BONFIRE. It was wonderful. My birthday party will be like that I swear. (= Anyway like.. EVERYONE was there. So I couldn begin to do the usual party shout outs, but yea I hung out mostly with Sharon and Andrea. Chris the IHOP Cook made fun of me for quitting; it made me happy - I thrive on negative attention these days. (= Well no really he was just joking.
Got a ride back with Sharon and her friend Mario at like midnight. I woulda liked to stay longer it was the most awesome party in the history of parties, but oh well, I'm appreciative of the ride. I walked two hours to get there...
Arriving home I mingled a little bit at the party next door. It wasn't really my scene though.. totally sorority girls and frat guys. I went back to my room and made myself toast... showed up again.. dispersed.
As I was leaving the last time some guy was like "hey did you run for senate? ("yea") yea Kris Fricke or something right? yea dude I totally voted for you.. I read your platform and stuff you were totally awesome." so like.. something randomly nice actually occured to me. Craziness.

emo poem of the day (written circa 2:40am tonight, as an away messege)

 And there comes a time,
 when its just too much,
 the precedent for failure,
 the predictability of loss,
when moving on seems too cliche,
 getting over it- just delay,
But there's no stand to take,
 Nowhere to go,
 And damaged chances,
 Should I let her know,
And so I sadly watch what chances remain,
As slowly slip they from my reach.
